ABOUT ME – ENGLISH
Alessandra Mangano, Axl, was born artistically in 2021.
Or rather, she was reborn.
Alessandra Mangano was born and lives in Milan, alternating periods in Taormina, Sicily.
This land, full of wonderful contradictions, place of born of her parents, will be a source of profound reflections and inspirations for her works (both pictorial and literary).
At school age, she attended the Second Art High School in Milan and a three-years course in Interior Design.
She later took on various types of jobs, continuing to cultivate her passion and calling for art in private.
She faced a difficult time due to an illness that allowed her to sink her hands even more into her imagination, into her world made of colors, shapes, words that adorn complicated moments, thus finding the strength to re-emerge.
This experience ends leaving her full of emotions, sensations, desires, ideals .
This is too much for Alessandra to manage.
The road, in her life routine, appears linear, already marked in the path.
In 2020 her private life goes mad. Her compressed creativity explodes in all its power.
In 2021 Alessandra becomes Axl.
She immerses herself in the multitude of emotions that have surfaced and, finally, finds the end of the thread that leads her to her art.
She transforms all her imagination into paintings in which she unrolls stories, through powdered pastels, ink, drawing on her experience, on a universal love, on nature, on spirituality and finally she focuses on the feminine, a vision of women in continuous evolution.
At the same time she gets back to her old writings and she starts writing poems.
She exposed her works in many galleries between Italy and abroad.
In September 2022, she republishes her collection of poems, “Il Giardino nel Cuore” (Amazon) and, in October of the same year “Vice Versa”, her first personal art performance in a gallery in Pavia curated by Maria Marchese.
In February 2025 she publishes her second collection of poems “All’ombra del gelsomino rosso” (Amazon), with a series of sketches that capture its essence.
She continues her painting career with personal works and private commissions.
